After a historic theatrical run that saw it become the first Hollywood film of 2025 to cross $1 billion, the live-action family entertainer is set to begin streaming.
August 16, 2025: The live-action version of Disney’s iconic Lilo & Stitch is finally ready to be released digitally. It will bring its record-breaking movie office glory to the small screen. Everyone was surprised by how well the movie did at the box office. On September 3, 2025, it will start streaming on JioHotstar.

The streaming service formally announced the movie’s release date and showed out a new poster. They further added that the moving story will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and English.
Dean Fleischer Camp was in charge of the movie, which made a major splash earlier this summer when it went up against Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning with Tom Cruise. Both movies did well at the box office, but Lilo & Stitch truly took off with people all around the world, generating more than $1.02 billion. It was the first Hollywood movie of 2025 to make it into the billion-dollar club, and it was also one of the highest-grossing movies of the year.
Chris Sanders, who voiced Stitch in the original movie, returns to the role in the live-action version. Maia Kealoha plays Lilo and Sydney Agudong plays Nani. People have been talking about how effectively the movie captures the charm and spirit of the original, which has helped it do well.
On June 26, the day fans celebrate as “626 Day,” Disney revealed a sequel called Lilo & Stitch 2. This is a clever nod to Stitch’s experiment number. The sequel is still being worked on, and Chris Sanders is scripting it. It should be in theaters in 2026.
