I’m not fluent in it.” Variety said, “Because in this business, Native actors used to say their lines in English, and the sound mixer would play them backwards to get Native languages on camera.” “This is a huge victory. Gladstone won for her role as Mollie Kyle in “Killers of the Flower Moon.” Kyle was the Native American wife of Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Ernest Burkhart, who served in World War I. Variety said that the Scorsese movie is based on the true story of the Reign of Terror in Oklahoma in the 1920s, when members of the Osage Nation were killed by a criminal group that wanted to get their oil and money.
