March 19, 2025: The highly anticipated romantic comedy Materialists has dropped its official trailer, generating excitement among fans. Starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal, the film explores the complexities of love and relationships in a New York City setting. The trailer, shared on the film’s official Instagram page, introduces Johnson as a young matchmaker who is torn between the promise of a perfect match and the unresolved emotions tied to a complicated ex.
Directed by Academy Award nominee Celine Song, Materialists is her second directorial venture following the success of Past Lives, which received widespread critical acclaim and multiple nominations, including at the Oscars and Golden Globes. The trailer reveals the chemistry between the main characters, with Johnson navigating a personal journey amid the challenges of modern love.
The film also features Zoe Winters, Marin Ireland, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson, and Sawyer Spielberg, and was filmed in New York City from April to June last year.
