Loveyapa Box Office Day 2: Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Film Struggles to Impress
February 9, 2025: Loveyapa, the Hindi remake of Pradeep Ranganathan’s Tamil hit Love Today, directed by Advait Chandan, hit theatres this Friday. Featuring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor in lead roles, the romantic comedy has collected a modest ₹2.31 crore net in India over two days, according to Sacnilk.

The film opened with ₹1.15 crore net and ₹1.35 crore gross on Day 1, showing slow growth on its second day with collections of ₹1.16 crore net. Morning show occupancy was reported at 6.09%, rising to 14.09% in the afternoon. Despite its light-hearted premise, Loveyapa faces tough competition from Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar, which has already earned ₹4.74 crore net in two days.
Aamir Khan has been actively promoting his son Junaid Khan’s theatrical debut. Speaking to ANI, Aamir shared his thoughts on the film, drawing comparisons between Khushi Kapoor and her legendary mother, Sridevi. He remarked, “When I watched the film and saw Khushi, I felt like I was watching Sridevi. Her energy was there. I am a huge fan of Sridevi.”
The film’s Mumbai premiere was a grand affair, attended by Bollywood heavyweights like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Rekha, and Dharmendra. Junaid’s sister, Ira Khan, praised her brother’s performance on social media, stating, “Junnu on the big screen! If you knew Junaid personally, you’d realize just how good of an actor he is playing this role.”
The film explores the dynamics of modern relationships in the age of technology, with a relatable narrative about how smartphones influence personal lives. While the film has drawn some praise for its performances, it remains to be seen whether it can pick up momentum in the coming days.
