‘Loveyapa’ Box Office Day 4: Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Rom-Com Sees Sharp Drop, Earns Only ₹60 Lakhs on Monday
February 11, 2025: Loveyapa, starring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, has seen a significant decline at the box office following a promising debut weekend. After collecting ₹1.75 crore on Sunday, the rom-com plummeted to just ₹0.60 crore on Monday, raising concerns about its long-term performance. The film, directed by Advait Chandan, now faces a challenging road ahead.
The much-anticipated film hit the theatres on February 7, 2025, amid mixed expectations. While some industry analysts predicted it might struggle to pass the box office test, decent weekend collections suggested otherwise. However, Monday’s sharp decline indicates the film is struggling to maintain momentum.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Loveyapa has now collected a total of ₹5.15 crore in its four-day theatrical run in India.
Loveyapa is a Hindi remake of the 2022 Tamil hit Love Today, which had opened with ₹1.15 crore. The film saw a healthy surge over the weekend, collecting ₹1.65 crore on Saturday and ₹1.75 crore on Sunday. However, as the week started, it failed to sustain the numbers.
Interestingly, the post-weekend drop wasn’t just limited to Loveyapa. Its competitor, Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar, also witnessed a similar decline on Monday. However, since Badass Ravikumar had a better opening weekend, it continues to lead at the box office.
Loveyapa marks the big-screen debut of Junaid Khan and revolves around a couple who are forced to exchange their phones, leading to shocking revelations and relationship struggles. The relatable storyline has resonated with younger audiences, but the box office numbers suggest it has yet to find sustained success.
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, Junaid Khan’s father, has praised the film, saying, “I watched the rough cut and liked it. It’s very entertaining. The way cell phones have shaped our lives is well depicted here.” He also lauded Khushi Kapoor, saying, “Watching her felt like seeing Sridevi. She has that same energy.”

With weekdays ahead, Loveyapa will need strong word of mouth to sustain its box office presence. The upcoming Valentine’s Day weekend could provide a slight boost, but it remains to be seen whether it can recover from the Monday drop.
