‘Maa’ Box Office Collection Day 2: Kajol’s Horror Flick Crosses ₹10 Crore Mark With Steady Growth
June 29, 2025: Kajol’s return to the big screen in Maa, a mythological horror film directed by Vishal Furia, is showing stable performance at the box office. The film, which marks her comeback after three years, has now crossed the ₹10 crore mark in India after two days.

According to Sacnilk, Maa collected ₹4.65 crore on Day 1 and saw a modest rise with ₹5.4 crore on Saturday (Day 2), bringing its total domestic collection to ₹10.05 crore. The film maintained decent occupancy throughout Saturday, with evening shows reporting the highest at 30.26%, contributing significantly to the day’s total.
While reviews have been mixed — praising Kajol’s performance and VFX but critiquing the lack of impact in horror and pacing — Maa still found steady audiences, especially in urban multiplexes.
Released alongside Vishnu Manchu’s mythological epic Kannappa, which had a stronger opening, Maa is holding its ground due to Kajol’s star power and emotional core, despite facing stiff competition at the box office.
Produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, and Kumar Mangat Pathak, Maa features Kajol as a fearless mother who battles supernatural forces to save her daughter. The film also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma, and is set in the Shaitaan cinematic universe.
