January 27, 2025: Kangana Ranaut’s political biographical drama Emergency has shown steady performance at the box office, witnessing significant growth on its ninth day. The film, which chronicles the controversial period of India’s Emergency under former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, is gradually inching closer to the ₹20 crore milestone.

Box Office Performance – Day 9
On its ninth day, Emergency earned an impressive ₹86 lakhs, a 115% increase from the previous day’s ₹40 lakh collection. With this, the total India net collection stands at ₹17.75 crores. The film needs consistent upward trends in the coming days to surpass ₹20 crores.

Despite stiff competition from Azaad, starring Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani, Emergency has outperformed its rival in terms of box office collections. However, with a reported budget of ₹60 crores, the film has recovered just 29% of its costs and needs sustained growth to reach profitability.
