Madhu Chopra Reflects on Son Siddharth's Struggles: 'Collateral Damage to Priyanka's Success'
December 2, 2024: Madhu Chopra, mother of global icon Priyanka Chopra, recently opened up about the sacrifices made in supporting her daughter’s meteoric rise in the entertainment industry. In an honest conversation on Something Bigger Show’s YouTube channel, Madhu revealed that her son, Siddharth Chopra, bore the unintended consequences of her unwavering focus on Priyanka’s career during his formative years.
“Siddharth was the collateral damage to all of Priyanka’s success,” Madhu admitted, explaining that her husband Ashok Chopra was busy with work, leaving Siddharth to grow up largely on his own. “He was a teenager at the time, and I wasn’t around. When I think about it now, these are certain things I regret. He had to deal with a lot on his own.”
Madhu also shared her concern for Siddharth, who she sees struggling in daily life. Despite the challenges, she emphasised gratitude for her family. “I count my blessings every day. I have two great kids who love and care for me,” she added, expressing pride in both Priyanka and Siddharth.
Despite the challenges, Priyanka and Siddharth share a close relationship. Siddharth often celebrates his sister’s milestones, as seen in his heartfelt social media post for her birthday, calling her the family’s “glue” and a “total rockstar.”
In August 2024, Siddharth Chopra embarked on a new chapter by marrying actress Neelam Upadhyaya. The wedding was a joyous occasion, attended by Priyanka, her husband Nick Jonas, and their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
Madhu Chopra’s candid reflections shed light on the often-overlooked sacrifices families make for a loved one’s success, while also highlighting the enduring bonds of love and resilience within the Chopra family.
