Madhuri Dixit Reveals Heartfelt Love Story with Dr. Shriram Nene: A Perfect Blend of Art and Science
In a rare and candid conversation, Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit offered a heartfelt glimpse into her love story with her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene, crediting their strong twenty-five-year marriage to genuine compatibility and mutual respect.
Speaking on a recent podcast with Ranveer Allahabadia, Madhuri revealed that she was initially highly focused on her career and cautious about dating, fearing she might choose the “wrong man.”
Madhuri clarified that while her brother introduced them, their union was not arranged. The couple dated for six months before deciding to marry in 1999.
“I am lucky I met such a romantic guy,” Madhuri said, emphasizing that their bond is built on encouragement and positivity. She charmingly described their relationship as a unique combination: “Our relationship is a great combination of art and science.”
The actor listed her husband’s caring nature and intellect as his best qualities, particularly noting his commitment to his patients.
Madhuri emphasized the value of their partnership, stating, “My husband and I are the biggest blessings in each other’s lives. My husband is a bigger blessing than my career,” highlighting that success means little without him. She even shared an anecdote about him mastering camera techniques to shoot her single “Candle” during the COVID lockdown.
Madhuri and Dr. Nene married on October 17, 1999. They moved to the United States where they raised their two sons, Arin (born 2003) and Ryan (born 2005), before permanently returning to Mumbai in 2011.
On the work front, Madhuri is set to return in a chilling new avatar in the psychological thriller series, Mrs Deshpande. The show, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, sees Madhuri play a convicted serial killer enlisted by the police to catch a copycat murderer. Mrs Deshpande is scheduled to premiere on JioHotstar on 19 December 2025.
