42 Individuals Summoned, Show’s Content Taken Down Amid Backlash

Mumbai, February 17: The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has filed an FIR against all individuals associated with the YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’, following widespread outrage over alleged controversial remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia in a recent episode.

The roast-based show, hosted by comedian Samay Raina, has come under intense scrutiny, with authorities ordering the removal of all related content while investigations are ongoing.

Authorities Crack Down on Controversial Show

According to Yashasvi Yadav, Inspector General of Maharashtra Cyber Cell, action has been taken against all individuals involved in the show’s production:
🛑 FIR registered against all members who played roles in different episodes.
🛑 42 individuals, including artists, producers, and influencers, have been summoned for questioning.
🛑 Authorities ordered the removal of all videos under investigation.
🛑 The show’s account has been deactivated until the inquiry concludes.

"The first controversial video was removed by cyber officials, and later comedian Samay Raina was instructed to take down all content related to the case," Yadav told ANI.

Ranveer Allahbadia Summoned, Issues Apology

Ranveer Allahbadia has been summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Cell on February 24 to record his statement regarding his obscene remarks during the show.

Following the backlash, Allahbadia posted a video apology on X, admitting that his comments were:
🔴 “Inappropriate and not even funny.”
🔴 “Comedy is not my forte. I should not have said what I said.”
🔴 “Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect.”

Samay Raina Reacts: ‘Only Intended to Entertain’

Comedian Samay Raina, who hosted the show, also addressed the controversy, saying that the backlash has been overwhelming.

🔹 He confirmed that he has removed all videos of ‘India’s Got Latent’ from his channel.
🔹 He assured authorities of his full cooperation in the investigation.
🔹 “Everything happening has been too much to handle. My only objective was to make people laugh. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure inquiries are conducted fairly.”

‘India’s Got Latent’ was a roast-style comedy show hosted by Samay Raina, featuring popular celebrities and influencers such as:
