The makers of the animated blockbuster Mahavatar Narsimha have addressed rumours about its streaming debut, clarifying that the film, which has become India’s biggest animated hit, is currently only available in theatres.
August 6, 2025: The creators who developed Mahavatar Narsimha have released a statement about its digital release after it set box office records. They warned followers on Instagram to not believe the claims about a forthcoming OTT release and that the movie is “ONLY in theaters” right now.

“We’ve been getting a lot of buzz about Mahavatar Narsimha coming to OTT soon, but let us clarify: For now, our film is ONLY available in theaters around the world,” the official post added. The developers also revealed they haven’t picked an OTT platform yet, which backs up their message to only trust official news.
The movie is still at the top of the box office, having generated more than ₹106 crore in India and more than ₹120 crore around the world. This makes it the most popular animated movie in India. Many fans have voiced the same thing as the people who made the movie: it’s fantastic and should be shown in theaters.
Mahavatar Narsimha is the opening segment of what will be a seven-part animated movie universe. Hombale Films and Kleem Productions made it, and Ashwin Kumar directed it. The movie, which is about Lord Vishnu’s Narsimha avatar, has struck a chord with moviegoers and is doing well despite a lot of competition from new Bollywood flicks.
