Mammootty Extends Support To 'L2: Empuraan', Wishes Cast And Crew Success
March 26, 2025: Malayalam superstar Mammootty has shown his support for the highly anticipated Malayalam film L2: Empuraan, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer.
Taking to his X account on Tuesday, Mammootty expressed his excitement about the film’s release and wished the entire cast and crew success. His tweet read:
“Best wishes to the entire cast and crew of #Empuraan for a historic victory! Hope it crosses boundaries across the world and makes the entire Malayalam industry proud. Rooting for you, dear Lal and Prithvi.”
Prithviraj Sukumaran, who directed L2: Empuraan and plays a key role in the film, responded with a heartfelt message, saying: “Nothing… absolutely nothing more special than wishes from the Patriarch of Malayalam cinema! Thank you, Mamukka!”
L2: Empuraan is the second installment in a planned trilogy, continuing the story of Lucifer. The trailer for the film, released earlier this month, shows Mohanlal’s character at the heart of a gripping socio-political drama. Known for his commanding screen presence as Khureshi-Ab’raam, Mohanlal leads a star-studded cast that includes Tovino Thomas, Abhimanyu Singh, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Manju Warrier.
The film will be a cinematic spectacle, and for the first time, L2: Empuraan will be released in IMAX. In addition to Malayalam, it will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu, marking a major milestone in Malayalam cinema.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan under their respective banners, Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies, the film is directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran with a story by Murali Gopy. Fans can expect L2: Empuraan to hit theatres on March 27.
