Mamta Kulkarni Returns to Mumbai After 25 Years, Denies Links to Drug World

The 90s Bollywood star reflects on her spiritual journey, ties with Vicky Goswami, and an emotional homecoming after decades.

Mumbai, December 18: Actress Mamta Kulkarni, known for her iconic performances in the 1990s, has returned to Mumbai after 25 years, sparking nostalgia among fans. Speaking to the media, she clarified that her return is not linked to a Bollywood comeback but marks a new chapter in her spiritual journey.

On Vicky Goswami and Drug Allegations

Addressing her connection to alleged drug lord Vicky Goswami, Mamta stated:

“I have no connection with the drug world and never met those involved. Yes, I got connected with Vicky Goswami in 1996 during the early phase of my spiritual journey when a guru came into my life.”

Mamta explained how she stood by Goswami during his incarceration in Dubai, visiting him and dedicating years to meditation and prayer.

“When Vicky was jailed in Dubai, he called me. I met him and spent 12 years focused on spirituality. By the time he came out of jail in 2012, I had moved beyond desires like love or marriage.”

Mamta further distanced herself from Goswami’s legal troubles, clarifying:

“I last contacted Vicky in 2016. From then until now, my life has been devoted to my spiritual practices.”

Return to India and Emotional Homecoming

Mamta shared her feelings of overwhelming emotion as she landed in Mumbai after decades abroad.

“Seeing my country from the plane made me emotional. I teared up stepping out of Mumbai airport for the first time in 25 years.”

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Mamta wrote:

“BACK TO MY MOTHERLAND AFTER 25 YEARS. ATTENDED KUMBH MELA 2012 AFTER 12 YEARS OF AUSTERITY, AND COME BACK EXACTLY AFTER 12 YEARS FOR ANOTHER MAHA KUMBH 2025.”

Mamta Kulkarni gained fame with blockbuster films like Karan Arjun and Baazi, sharing the screen with Bollywood icons like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. However, she chose to step away from the limelight in the early 2000s, embracing a life focused on spirituality abroad.

Legal Controversies

In 2017, Mamta faced allegations related to a drug haul case along with Goswami. A non-bailable warrant was issued against the duo, linking them to a U.S. DEA sting operation. However, Mamta has consistently denied involvement, reiterating her spiritual focus during that period.
