The acclaimed actor publicly clarified on X that he has ‘no association or allegiance with any political party’ and urged fans to stop spreading the distorted content.

Acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee has taken firm action against the unauthorized circulation of a manipulated video that falsely suggested his endorsement of a political party ahead of the upcoming Bihar Election 2025.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the actor issued a clear public statement, emphasizing the deceptive nature of the clip and firmly asserting his non-involvement in politics.

Manoj Bajpayee Denounces Misleading Content

Manoj Bajpayee explicitly clarified that the viral footage was not a genuine political statement but a fabricated piece of media. He re-shared the now-deleted link to the video, which reportedly showed him supporting a political party, and urged his fans and followers “to stop spreading such distorted content.”

His full statement on X read:

“I would like to publicly state that I have no association or allegiance with any political party. The video being circulated is a fake, patched-up edit of an ad I did for @PrimeVideoIN. I sincerely appeal to everyone sharing it to stop spreading such distorted content and urge people not to engage with or encourage such misleading content.”

The actor confirmed that the clip was an edited version of an old commercial he had filmed for the streaming platform Prime Video, which was manipulated to appear as a political message.

Internet Reactions and The Deepfake Threat

Manoj Bajpayee’s prompt clarification was met with widespread support online, with many users commending him for addressing the issue directly.

  • One fan commented, “Glad you clarified it. People should verify before believing such edited clips, but I must say that this video was not posted by the real X account of @yadavtejashwi.”
  • A user pointed out the broader digital risk, writing: “In today’s digital age, deepfakes and deceptive editing are a genuine threat to every public figure’s reputation. Relying on such manipulated content to assign party allegiance undermines the very foundation of informed political discourse.”
  • Another person tweeted an appeal to the actor: “File a defamation suit.”

This incident highlights the growing threat of deepfake videos and AI-manipulated content. In recent times, several prominent celebrities, including Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Suniel Shetty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Akshay Kumar, have been actively approaching courts to prevent the misuse of their names and photos and to protect their personality rights.
