Marvel Unveils First Teaser For ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’

February 5, 2025: The much-awaited teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has finally been released, giving fans a first glimpse of the highly anticipated film. Unveiled by Marvel Studios on Tuesday, the teaser sets the stage for an exciting journey into the retrofuturistic world of The Fantastic Four. The film is set to hit theatres in July this year.

The teaser opens with Reed Richards and Sue Storm giving a guest a tour of their iconic headquarters at the Baxter Building. Meanwhile, H.E.R.B.I.E. and The Thing are busy preparing a meal.

This lighthearted moment contrasts with a more emotional scene between Reed and Sue, where they reflect on the changes in their lives since their transformation. “Before we went up the first time,” Reed tells Sue, “you couldn’t turn invisible, Ben wasn’t a rock, and Johnny never caught fire.” Sue, ever supportive, responds, “Ben has always been a rock. Johnny is…Johnny. And I am right here. Whatever life throws at us, we’ll face it together, as a family.”

The teaser also includes glimpses of Johnny Storm flying into outer space without a spacesuit, fiery clouds engulfing Manhattan, and a mysterious appearance by John Malkovich, whose role in the film remains undisclosed.

Set in an alternate 1960s, The Fantastic Four: First Steps was filmed overseas from July to November 2024. The film is directed by Matt Shakman, known for his work on WandaVision, and written by Ric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. The stellar cast includes Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal (a version of Silver Surfer), Paul Walter-Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Kevin Feige is producing for Marvel Studios, and fans can expect an exciting and emotional adventure when the film releases this summer.
