November 22, 2025: The box office witnessed a clash of extremes this Friday as the raunchy comedy Masti 4 went head-to-head with the serious military drama 120 Bahadur. Both films, however, started slowly, relying heavily on spot bookings and immediate word-of-mouth for survival.
According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, the fourth installment of the Masti franchise, starring Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani, managed to pull ahead marginally on its opening day.

In a telling sign of the current box office scenario, the new releases faced tough competition not from each other, but from the week-old rom-com sequel, De De Pyaar De 2.
The Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R. Madhavan starrer, now in its second week, continues to show stability. The film earned an estimated ₹2.25 crore on its eighth day (Friday), nearly matching the opening day collections of both Masti 4 and 120 Bahadur.
De De Pyaar De 2 has already amassed over ₹50 crore in its first week and its consistent performance highlights a strong preference among families for the holdover film, putting immense pressure on the two new releases to show significant growth over the Saturday and Sunday weekend.
The fate of both Masti 4 and 120 Bahadur now hangs in the balance, resting entirely on positive audience feedback to propel them forward and recover their costs before the next wave of major releases hits screens.
