McBee Dynasty Drama: Steven McBee Jr. and Calah Jackson Break Up Again
July 29, 2025: On the most recent episode of Bravo’s The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, Steven McBee Jr. and Calah Jackson’s rocky relationship hit another dramatic high point. Fans were left wondering about the tension on television, but Steven has now confirmed that their tumultuous relationship is finished for good.
Steven took Calah to the Ozarks with his family in the program that aired on Monday, July 28. He said they were “just friends.” The trip started out well, but things quickly went downhill when Steven asked his mom to sign off on an apartment for Calah in Dallas. Calah herself said, “Am I a dumb bitch for going?” “Maybe,” but they still went on the vacation. Later, she told Cole McBee’s girlfriend, Kacie Adkison, that she and Steven “sometimes” had sex even though they were “broken up.”

When alcohol was involved, things got worse. Calah and Steven’s younger brother Cole got into a fight when Calah said Steven had a “easy” existence. Cole stood up for his brother, who became CEO of McBee Farm & Cattle in 2024. Steven didn’t support Calah. Later, he told cameras that she was “the definition of a mean drunk.” As the fight got worse, Steven took Cole’s side, which made Calah cry.
“I know a lot about this family.” Calah said in a confession after leaving the vacation house that she could bury them if she wanted to.
Steven said that he and Calah had broken up “15 or 16” times since they started dating in 2021, after meeting on Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer in 2022. Their relationship on the show seemed to be at its lowest point.
This month, though, Steven only told Us Weekly that their most recent breakup, which happened after filming ended in late 2024, is final. Steven said, “The way you see the rest of season 2 shaping up are the real conversations Calah and I have at the end.” He also said that their breakup count is in the “double digits.” He also said that the last episode of season 2 will highlight the conclusion of their “rocky romance.” “You’ll see how that all works out, and we’ve really been broken up since then,” Steven said again, “We’ve been separated since then.”
Steven said he was sorry for crossing those lines when he thought about their connection, especially how his family was involved. He told Us, “I’m very, very open with my family about what’s going on,” and he recognized that this isn’t always good for a relationship, especially after seeing it again. He also said he wishes he had avoided “foot-in-mouth moments.”
Steven told Us that he is unmarried, although he did get in touch with Calah after the show started in June. He remembered calling her after viewing the first few episodes, especially when he told his siblings not to talk to her in May when her sister died. Later, he admitted that the “timing” was bad and apologized for how his family handled things. He also said that they all apologized to Calah. Calah’s Instagram says that she and Steven are still broken up, which is what she said.
