Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Drop Cringe Delivery Room Dance-Watch

A throwback video of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry dancing in the hospital during Lilibet’s birth celebration draws mixed reactions—some find it endearing, others label it ‘cringe’.

New York | June 4, 2025
To celebrate Princess Lilibet’s 4th birthday, Meghan Markle shared a throwback video that has since sparked both admiration and backlash. The video, filmed in 2021 during Markle’s labor with her second child, shows the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry dancing to the viral “Baby Momma Dance Song” in a hospital delivery room.

In the lighthearted clip, Markle, wearing a black wrap dress, twirls and sways to the music. Prince Harry joins in, sporting a green hoodie and jeans, as the pair “drop it low” in sync with the beat. The video ends with both continuing to dance in the delivery suite—an unconventional yet intimate look at their parenting journey.

Markle captioned the video:
“Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work — there was only one thing left to do! 😂”

The video quickly went viral, with mixed responses flooding social media.

“Make it stop. #Cringe,” one user posted on X.
Another remarked, “Everything they do to be ‘relatable’ is weirdly not relatable.”

Yet others praised the candid moment:

“LOOOOVE!! Go Meghan and Harry!” said one fan, while another called it “super cute.”

The dance, though unconventional, aligns with medical advice. According to the National Institutes of Health, movement and dancing during labor can promote a more natural birth experience.

The post also featured throwback images of Meghan holding newborn Lilibet, along with touching moments of Harry bonding with his daughter.

“Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives – and each day is brighter and better because of it,” Meghan wrote.

She added a tribute to Harry’s role as a father:

“Daddy’s little girl and favorite adventurer. Happy birthday, Lili!”

Lilibet, born June 4, 2021, was named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II (whose childhood nickname was Lilibet) and Princess Diana, Harry’s late mother.

As always, the Sussexes’ efforts to be open and relatable continue to divide opinion—but for many, this moment was simply a joyful glimpse into a modern royal family’s most personal milestone.
