Meghan Markle Opens Up About Memoir Speculation and Future Plans: 'I've Got More Life to Live'
Meghan Markle is setting the record straight on whether she plans to write a memoir.
During a surprise appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show — her first guest spot on a podcast — the Duchess of Sussex, 43, reflected on life, motherhood, business ventures, and future projects. Though Meghan now hosts her own podcast Confessions of a Female Founder on Lemonada Media, this marked her debut as a guest speaker.
When asked by host Jamie Kern Lima if she had any plans to author another book, Meghan responded thoughtfully.
“Yes, maybe, for sure,” she said, adding, “I love working right now in the space of hospitality, home, entertaining, food — all those tips. Something like that could be really fun.”
On the subject of a personal memoir, Meghan admitted, “People are often curious if I’m going to write a memoir, but I’ve got a lot more life to live before I’m there.”
Meghan’s previous forays into writing include penning the foreword for Together: Our Community Cookbook in 2018 to support the Hubb Community Kitchen after the Grenfell Tower fire, and her 2021 children’s book The Bench, inspired by a Father’s Day poem she wrote for Prince Harry. The Bench debuted at No. 1 on The New York Times Bestseller list for children’s picture books shortly after its release.
Her husband, Prince Harry, 40, released his own bestselling memoir Spare in January 2023, offering an unfiltered look into his royal upbringing, military service, and decision to step back from royal duties.
During the same conversation, Meghan also addressed another persistent rumor — whether she might pursue a political career.
Asked if she would ever run for office, Meghan laughed and firmly replied, “No. Never. Oh, God. I mean, you could say ‘never say never,’ but no, I’m not interested in that.”
For now, Meghan’s focus remains on creative and lifestyle ventures, and, as she hinted, there’s still much more to come.
