Meghan Markle Spotted Without Engagement Ring, Sparks Rumours of Growing Distance from Prince Harry

During the International Day of the Girl, Meghan spent time drawing and crafting with young women at the Girls Inc. centre in Greater Santa Barbara. Though elegantly dressed, many noticed that the engagement ring, famously designed by Prince Harry, was missing.

Prince Harry designed the custom ring in 2017 with deep sentimental value. It features two diamonds from his late mother, Princess Diana’s collection, and a larger stone from Botswana, a place of significance in the couple’s early relationship. The ring, set on a simple gold band, has symbolised the couple’s bond since Harry’s romantic proposal at Kensington Palace.

However, while her engagement ring was absent, Meghan was still seen wearing her wedding band. This isn’t the first time she has been spotted without the ring. During the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, she appeared without it, sparking similar rumours. At that time, sources clarified that the ring was being repaired, and it later reappeared earlier this year.

Recently, both Meghan and Prince Harry have been attending numerous high-profile events separately. Harry has been traveling extensively, promoting his philanthropic efforts in New York, London, and Southern Africa. Meghan, on the other hand, has been dedicating time to her own projects, including attending a glamorous charity gala for Children’s Hospital LA, where she was seen wearing the engagement ring.

These separate public appearances have stirred rumours about the couple’s relationship, with some speculating that Meghan’s decision to forgo her engagement ring could indicate deeper marital issues. However, close insiders suggest that this may simply reflect the couple’s evolving approach to their professional and personal lives. According to sources, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are embracing a “twin-track approach,” focusing on individual pursuits while continuing to support each other.

One insider told People magazine, “The Duke and Duchess have found their stride as individuals, not just as a couple.” Another added, “While Harry remains committed to his patronage work, Meghan is investing her energy into her entrepreneurial efforts.”
