Metro...In Dino Box Office Collection Day 2: Anurag Basu's Musical Film Mints This Much
July 6, 2025: Anurag Basu’s latest release Metro…In Dino is off to a promising start at the box office. After a modest opening day collection, the film saw a significant surge on its second day, earning approximately Rs 6 crore on Saturday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes the film’s total box office collection to Rs 9.5 crore in just two days.
Metro…In Dino, released in theatres on July 4, is a spiritual successor to the 2007 cult classic Life In A… Metro. The film explores themes of love, relationships, and emotional turbulence set against the backdrop of a modern metropolitan city.
Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher, the film has already struck a chord with audiences for its heartfelt storytelling and relatable characters.
Critics have responded positively to the film. The Free Press Journal praised the film for “dexterously weaving bittersweet love stories and fragile relationships of four urban couples.” The review highlighted its layered screenplay, emotional depth, and ability to capture contemporary relationship dynamics.
While the film had a decent Day 1 collection of Rs 3.5 crore, the Saturday spike suggests positive word-of-mouth could push the film to a solid opening weekend total. With Sunday collections yet to come in, Metro…In Dino could surpass Rs 15 crore by the end of its first weekend.
