Later that night, Jordan celebrated the encounter on Instagram, sharing a series of photos with Cruise and a nostalgic caption:
“I was too young to see the first Mission: Impossible in the theater, but now I get a chance to watch the final one… in IMAX!!!! Much love @tomcruise.”
The admiration appears mutual. Cruise had recently shown his support for Jordan’s upcoming film Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler. The vampire horror movie, set in 1930s Mississippi, features Jordan in dual roles. Cruise praised the film on social media, posting a photo of himself beside the movie’s poster and writing:
“Congratulations Ryan, Michael, and the entire cast and crew. Must see in a cinema and stay through the end credits!”
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning had its global premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday. Directed and co-written by Christopher McQuarrie, the action-packed thriller features an ensemble cast that includes Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, and Angela Bassett.
In a special treat for Indian audiences, the film is set to release in India on May 17, a full six days ahead of its global debut on May 23.
