April 26, 2025: Amazon MGM Studios has officially scheduled the release of Michael B. Jordan’s much-anticipated reimagining of The Thomas Crown Affair for March 5, 2027, with the film also arriving in IMAX theatres, according to Deadline.

Starring Michael B. Jordan and Taylor Russell, the film is expected to bring a fresh take on the suave, high-stakes thriller that previously centered around a wealthy art thief and his cat-and-mouse game with an investigator. While plot details are still under wraps, the film is written by Drew Pearce, building on earlier drafts by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson.

Jordan, who is also producing under his Outlier Society banner, joins producers Patrick McCormick, Marc Toberoff, and Elizabeth Raposo on the project. Insiders suggest the film could launch a stylish thriller franchise, with Taylor Russell potentially carving out an iconic role of her own.

The 1999 version of The Thomas Crown Affair, starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo, was both a critical and commercial success, grossing $124.3 million worldwide. Jordan, fresh off the box office success of his vampire action-thriller Sinners, looks poised to deliver another hit with this slick reinvention.
