May 16, 2025: Michael J. Fox is set to return to the screen with a guest-starring role in the upcoming third season of Apple TV+’s hit comedy series ‘Shrinking’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The five-time Emmy Award-winning actor’s role is being kept under wraps, but his addition marks a highly anticipated reunion with Shrinking co-creator Bill Lawrence, with whom Fox previously worked on the iconic ABC sitcom ‘Spin City’—Lawrence’s debut series as a creator.

Shrinking, currently in production for its third season, stars Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. The show follows a grieving therapist (Segel) who starts breaking the rules by telling his clients exactly what he thinks, creating seismic changes in their lives—and his own.

Fox’s last on-camera acting role was in The Good Fight in 2020, where he reprised his Emmy-nominated role as attorney Louis Canning. The beloved actor has been living with Parkinson’s disease for over three decades and remains a passionate advocate for research and awareness through the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Shrinking is created by Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein, who also serve as executive producers along with Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Randall Winston, Annie Mebane, Rachna Fruchbom, Brian Gallivan, Ashley Nicole Black, and Bill Posley.

Fox’s addition to the cast is expected to bring both heart and humor to the series, further strengthening its reputation for blending comedy with emotional depth.
