Miley Cyrus Names Liam Hemsworth in Unexpected Podcast Moment

June 6, 2025: Miley Cyrus is back with her signature wit — and this time, ex-husband Liam Hemsworth was in the line of fire. While reflecting on her music journey during the “Every Single Album” podcast, Miley made a rare and cheeky comment about Hemsworth, whom she met in 2009 while filming The Last Song.

“That’s where I met Liam, who I would go on to marry and write a ton of — or, most of — my songs about,” the 32-year-old pop icon recalled, before joking, “Talk about catching strays!”

The playful jab followed another amusing anecdote earlier in the episode, where she described her teenage perception of ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas after their 2009 split. “He was such a d–k,” Miley joked, adding that he, too, was “still catching strays.” However, she quickly clarified, “I like Nick… Niley for life!”

As for Hemsworth, Miley didn’t delve into their current relationship status. The two began dating in 2010, married in 2018, and divorced less than a year later. Since then, Cyrus has moved on with musician Maxx Morando, while Hemsworth is dating model Gabriella Brooks.

Though the pair rarely comment on each other publicly, speculation around their split flared up again with Miley’s 2023 tracks like Muddy Feet and Flowers, which hinted at betrayal and heartbreak. Lyrics like “Get the f–k out of my house” and “Built a home and watched it burn” were seen as direct references to their stormy relationship and the Malibu fire that destroyed their home.

Miley also fueled buzz recently when she signed a vinyl record for a fan named Liam, cheekily dedicating it to “the best Liam.”
