Miley Cyrus Says No to Touring: "I Wish I Had the Desire, But I Don’t"
July 20, 2025: Miley Cyrus has made it clear that she has no plans to go on tour anytime soon. The Something Beautiful singer opened up during a recent interview with Good Morning America, sharing that while she’s physically capable and has the opportunity, she simply doesn’t have the desire to hit the road.
“I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunity to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t,” she said, as quoted by People. Miley Cyrus, who last toured in 2014 for her Bangerz album, revealed that her decision is rooted in protecting her mental health.

The singer elaborated on the toll touring can take, especially for artists striving to maintain balance. “There are artists like Prince who are not here today, who lived such a high-intensity lifestyle on the road. It’s really hard to maintain sobriety on the road, which is a really important pillar of stability in my life,” she explained.
Cyrus also spoke about the emotional rollercoaster of performing in front of huge crowds night after night. “You have so many thousands of people screaming at you — so dopamine, you’re feeling a lot of love — and then you totally crash at the end of the show,” she said. “You start thinking that one person loving you is not enough. It needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000.”
This isn’t the first time Miley has addressed her reluctance to tour. In 2023, she responded to fan backlash online, clarifying that her decision isn’t about a lack of gratitude. “It has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans,” she wrote on X. “I just don’t want to sleep on a moving bus. It isn’t what’s best for me right NOW.”
Earlier this year, Cyrus released her ninth studio album Something Beautiful, accompanied by a full-length visual film that premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 6, 2025.
