Mimoh Chakraborty, Jeet Madnani Reflect On Their Journey In 'Khakee: The Bengal Chapter'
March 22, 2025: Neeraj Pandey is back with another high-octane crime drama, Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, the highly anticipated follow-up to the success of Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. Set in early 2000s Kolkata, this series dives deep into the gritty world of crime, corruption, power, and the law enforcement tasked with bringing justice to the streets of Bengal.
Co-written by Neeraj Pandey, Debatma Mandal, and Samrat Chakraborty, the series follows a determined police officer battling against the powerful forces of crime and politics that seek to derail justice. Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, Khakee: The Bengal Chapter features an ensemble cast of Bengali cinema’s finest actors, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Saswata Chatterjee, and many others.
Director Debatma Mandal expressed his excitement about the collaboration with such esteemed actors, saying, “It was a great working experience with the stalwarts of the industry. Our idea was to get the best actors from Bengal as we were making a story on it and we wanted to work with the best talents, and with God’s grace, we got them for the series.”
The show features a fascinating mix of seasoned actors and fresh faces. Actor Mimoh Chakraborty shared his excitement about joining the project, explaining how he auditioned for the role and was overwhelmed when he received the confirmation, “I am a big fan of Neeraj sir, and it’s been a beautiful journey.”
Actress Aakanksha Singh, who is thrilled about her role in the series, remarked, “I feel blessed to be part of projects in different languages… I crave good work, and I hope Khakee opens new doors for me.” Meanwhile, Jeet Madnani, another notable actor, expressed his excitement at the opportunity to join a Hindi project, something he had been eager to do for a long time. “When Neeraj came with this opportunity, I took it up as it was something I was waiting for,” he said.
Chitrangda Singh, who plays Nibedita, also shared her enthusiasm, saying, “I think I was instantly in love with Nibedita. People sometimes live such opposite lives, and I find such characters very interesting. Emotionally complex roles, where strengths, weaknesses, love, and pain intertwine, intrigue me the most.” She added that her life experiences have made her more emotionally mature, which helps her bring more depth to her characters.
The series marks the first collaboration between two Bengali cinema icons, Jeet and Prosenjit Chatterjee. Jeet portrays an IPS officer, while Prosenjit plays a powerful politician, creating an exciting dynamic between their characters. The all-Bengali star cast adds an authentic touch to the Hindi-language series, offering a fresh perspective on the narrative.
Khakee: The Bengal Chapter has already garnered significant attention for its intense storyline, strong performances, and captivating characters. With themes of corruption, crime, and justice, the series is set to be a thrilling ride for viewers.
