Mini Mathur Slams IndiGo Over Senior Citizen Treatment
Actor alleges wheelchair lapse left her 86-year-old father walking 1 km at Mumbai airport
February 10, 2026: Actor and television host Mini Mathur has publicly criticised IndiGo Airlines, accusing the carrier of poor management and insensitivity towards senior citizens. Sharing her experience on Instagram Stories, Mini said her pre-booked wheelchair was unavailable during a recent flight with her 86-year-old father at Mumbai airport, forcing him to walk nearly a kilometre to the boarding gate while carrying cabin baggage.
Detailing the ordeal, Mini pointed out the absence of a separate check-in counter for wheelchair passengers, alleged rude behaviour by airline staff, and the lack of buggy services. “How do senior citizens carry cabin luggage if they can’t walk?” she questioned, adding that a brand that does not treat age with compassion “can never age well.” Her post quickly drew attention online, with many users echoing similar complaints about airport accessibility.
Mini Mathur, a familiar face on Indian television, has hosted multiple MTV shows and six seasons of Indian Idol, and appeared on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. She was last seen in the Prime Video series Mind the Malhotras. Her strong words have reignited conversations around airline accountability and the need for better facilities for elderly passengers at major airports.
