December 1, 2024: Divyenndu, known for his iconic role as Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur, has been roped in for a pivotal role in Ram Charan’s upcoming film, tentatively titled RC16. This will mark the actor’s debut in the South Indian film industry. The announcement was made on November 30 by Vriddhi Cinemas, the producers of the film, who shared Divyenndu’s first-look poster on social media.
In the poster, Divyenndu sports an intense, villainous look, wearing an animal-print shirt and black jeans, with a long beard that perfectly complements the fierce vibe of his character. Vriddhi Cinemas welcomed him aboard with a special post on Instagram, saying, “Our favourite ‘Munna Bhayya’ will light up the big screens in a spectacular role tailor-made for him. Team #RC16 welcomes the incredibly talented and compelling performer @divyenndu on board.”
RC16 is directed by Buchi Babu Sana and stars Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Kannada superstar Shiva Raj Kumar, and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles. The film’s music will be composed by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman, and it is being produced under the banner of Sukumar Writings, the production house of the celebrated director Sukumar. The film’s shoot is set to begin soon.
In addition to his upcoming venture in the South film industry, Divyenndu will also be seen in Agni, a film written and directed by Rahul Dholakia. Agni, slated to release on December 6 on Amazon Prime Video, features Pratik Gandhi, Jitendra Joshi, Saiyami Kher, and Kabir Shah in lead roles. The film portrays the bravery and sacrifice of firefighters, with Divyenndu playing Samit, the brother-in-law of the lead character Vithal (played by Pratik Gandhi).
Divyenndu, who impressed audiences earlier this year with his performance in Madgaon Express, became widely popular for his ruthless portrayal of Munna Bhaiya in the web series Mirzapur. The series, which also starred Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Rasika Duggal, was a huge hit, and its fourth season is currently in development, promising to bring more of Munna Bhaiya’s chaotic and intense character to the screen.
