According to trade analyst Luiz Fernando, the film earned $6.2 million on its first Monday in China—registering the 5th-biggest first Monday post-COVID for a Hollywood release. With over 104,000 screenings, it has collected $31.7 million so far in China, despite a 40.4% drop from its Sunday collection.

- Alien: Romulus – $8.1M
- Godzilla vs. Kong – $7.0M
- Meg 2: The Trench – $6.4M

The strong Chinese debut has significantly bolstered the film’s worldwide box office, which now stands at $353.7 million:
- Domestic (North America): $122.5 million
- Overseas: $231.2 million
Released on May 23, Mission: Impossible 8 marks the end of a cinematic era that began nearly three decades ago. The film carries immense emotional weight for fans, especially those who grew up watching Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt scale impossible heights—both literally and metaphorically. That nostalgia has translated into box office momentum across international markets.
