Mithun Chakraborty Reveals Shah Rukh Khan’s Cameo in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, Confirms Historic First On-Screen Collaboration

Actor Mithun Chakraborty has seemingly let a major secret slip about Jailer 2, confirming that Shah Rukh Khan will be part of the much-anticipated sequel led by Rajinikanth. The revelation came during Mithun’s interview with Siti Cinema, where he spoke about his upcoming projects and inadvertently disclosed key details about the star-studded Tamil film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

While discussing whether he prefers a particular genre, Mithun mentioned Jailer 2 and went on to list the film’s cast. In doing so, he named Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, Ramya Krishnan and Shiva Rajkumar, adding that all their characters are “against” him in the film. His statement not only confirmed Shah Rukh Khan’s presence but also hinted that Mithun himself plays the antagonist.

If true, Jailer 2 will mark the first time Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth officially share screen space. Although Rajinikanth’s character Chitti appeared briefly in Shah Rukh’s Ra. One (2011), it was later clarified by actor Suresh Menon that Rajinikanth himself did not shoot for the cameo due to health issues at the time. As a result, Jailer 2 would be their first genuine on-screen collaboration.

Shah Rukh Khan has previously paid tribute to Rajinikanth in Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express (2013) with the chartbuster song Lungi Dance, but fans have long awaited a proper cinematic meeting between the two superstars.

The original Jailer (2023) starred Rajinikanth alongside Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa, with Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff appearing in cameo roles. Jailer 2 will see Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar reprise their roles, with Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan returning as well.

An official announcement regarding Shah Rukh Khan’s role is still awaited, but Mithun Chakraborty’s comments have already sparked massive excitement among fans across film industries.
