MMA Icon Anthony Pettis To Make Special Appearance At IIFA Awards

March 2, 2025: The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2025 is set to make history with an exciting new collaboration that brings together sports and entertainment in a groundbreaking way. To celebrate its Silver Jubilee edition, IIFA has announced a partnership with the Indian Pro Boxing League (IPBL), taking the excitement of this year’s event to new heights.

Scheduled to take place on March 8 and 9 in Jaipur, the prestigious IIFA Awards will feature a special appearance by legendary MMA fighter and combat sports pioneer Anthony Pettis. The inclusion of combat sports adds a fresh twist to the iconic event, highlighting the growing connection between Bollywood and global sporting cultures.

Andre Timmins, Co-Founder of IIFA, shared his excitement in a press release, stating, “The year 2025 is not just a celebration; it marks a transformative milestone, creating unforgettable global experiences.” He went on to express his enthusiasm for the unique collaboration, adding, “IIFA’s historic Silver Jubilee sets the stage for an even brighter future of remarkable achievements. We are thrilled to announce a game-changing fusion of sports and entertainment as IIFA joins hands with IPBL.”

Timmins also spoke highly of the potential of the IPBL, saying, “IPBL represents the next big movement in Indian sports, and we are proud to be part of this journey. With our decades of expertise in producing world-class entertainment events, we aim to elevate IPBL into a global spectacle, seamlessly blending high-octane sports and entertainment, much like the biggest combat sports leagues in the world.”

This collaboration between IIFA and IPBL aims to raise the profile of Indian boxing on the global stage, attracting fans and audiences from around the world. The partnership is expected to enhance the visibility of the sport and position IPBL as a premier combat sports league in India.

The 25th edition of IIFA promises to be a landmark event, showcasing not only the best of Indian cinema but also the thrilling world of combat sports, offering an unforgettable celebration of both entertainment and athleticism.
