Mohanlal Buys First Ticket for Chatha Pacha
Superstar’s gesture fuels buzz around Mammootty cameo and January 22 release
January 20, 2026: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has added to the excitement around director Advaith Nayar’s upcoming action entertainer Chatha Pacha by purchasing the very first ticket as advance bookings opened. In a video shared by the film’s team, Mohanlal is seen booking the ticket and subtly hinting that his “friend” Mammootty is also part of the project, a reference that has further fueled speculation about a cameo by the veteran actor and delighted fans of Malayalam cinema.
Backed by creative producer Shihan Shoukath and produced by Ritesh and Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan along with Shoukath Ali under the Reel World Entertainment banner, Chatha Pacha features a young ensemble cast including Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair and Ishan Shoukath. The film has already generated strong pre-release buzz, with its first three songs topping charts and gaining widespread popularity.
Keeping the momentum alive ahead of its worldwide release on January 22, the makers have unveiled the fourth track, Carnival, a high-energy celebration anthem sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Pranavam Sasi, with a rap by MC Couper. The film marks the first Malayalam composition by the renowned trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy, while its technical team — including cinematographer Anend C Chandran, editor Praveen Prabhakar and action choreographer Kalai Kingson — promises a visually dynamic and energetic big-screen experience.
