Superstar Mohanlal has once again proven his box office prowess as his latest drama thriller Thudarum opened to a spectacular response worldwide. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum grossed approximately ₹28 crore domestically over its first three days, including over ₹20 crore from Kerala alone.

On the international front, the film raked in an estimated ₹40 crore, taking its total worldwide opening weekend gross to around ₹68 crore.
This performance makes Thudarum the second biggest opening weekend in Mollywood history, only behind Mohanlal’s own Empuraan, which recently posted a massive ₹174 crore four-day opening. Thudarum has also surpassed Aadujeevitham’s four-day ₹64.85 crore gross, securing the second spot in the all-time Malayalam opening rankings.
With strong word-of-mouth and growing momentum, Thudarum is well on track to join the ₹100 crore club — potentially by the end of its first week or by the second Friday — becoming the second Malayalam film this year after Empuraan to achieve the milestone.
