May 20, 2025: Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is speaking out after fake photos and videos of her with Rajasthan Royals’ 14-year-old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi began circulating on social media. The actress, who is known for her strong presence on social media, has expressed her disbelief that such altered images are being shared and believed by the public.

The controversy began earlier this week when photos and videos surfaced showing Preity meeting Vaibhav during a visit to Jaipur. In one of the viral clips, she is seen talking to the young cricketer and even appearing to hug him. The video was widely shared online, with many speculating that it had been shot at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

However, Preity quickly took to social media to address the issue. She reposted an article featuring the altered image and wrote, “This is a morphed image and fake news. Am so surprised now news channels are also using morphed images and featuring them as news items.” In another post, she shared a regional news link with a similar claim, stating, “Fake news with morphed image.”

The video posted by the Rajasthan Royals’ official X (formerly Twitter) account earlier on Monday showed Preity meeting Vaibhav, but the clip did not depict her hugging the young cricketer. Instead, it showed her briefly chatting with Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal before stepping aside to greet Vaibhav. In the video, Preity mentions wanting to meet the 14-year-old and shares a short conversation with him before they shake hands.

Despite the franchise’s official video showing no such hug, the edited photos were quickly picked up by social media users and media outlets, leading to confusion and spreading misinformation.
