Actress says elderly men behaved inappropriately during live performance
January 24, 2026: Bollywood actress Mouni Roy has spoken about a disturbing experience at a recent event in Karnal, alleging harassment by members of the audience, including elderly men. In a series of Instagram stories, the actress said that as she walked towards the stage, several male attendees placed their hands on her waist under the pretext of taking photographs. When she objected and asked them to remove their hands, she was met with hostility.
According to Mouni, the situation worsened once she was on stage. She alleged that two men standing in the front row made lewd remarks, obscene gestures and resorted to name-calling during her performance. Despite gesturing for them to stop, the men allegedly continued their behaviour, even throwing roses at her. The actress said no family members or organisers intervened to remove them from the front area.
Visibly shaken, Mouni briefly stepped towards the stage exit but returned to complete her performance. Expressing anguish, she said the incident left her “humiliated and traumatised” and raised concerns about the safety of young performers starting out in the industry. Urging authorities to take strict action, the actress said artists are only trying to earn an honest living and questioned how such men would react if similar behaviour was directed at their own family members.
