Mrunal Thakur's Latest Comment On Dhanush’s Post Adds Fuel To Dating Rumours
Mrunal Thakur praises Dhanush’s “beautiful journey” in Varanasi post, stirring up speculation about their alleged relationship.
November 28, 2025: Dhanush recently shared a heartfelt series of photos from his visit to Varanasi, the city where his cinematic journey as the beloved character Kundan from Aanand L Rai’s 2013 film Raanjhanaa first began.
His emotional post immediately garnered significant attention, particularly after actor Mrunal Thakur dropped a highly appreciative comment, adding fuel to the ongoing rumors linking the two stars. The visit to Banaras allowed Dhanush to reflect on his iconic role, sharing pictures that captured the essence of his initial acting experience in the city.
On Wednesday, Dhanush posted several images from Varanasi, some of which featured director Aanand L Rai, who helmed both Raanjhanaa and the upcoming Tere Ishk Mein. In his caption, the actor wrote about walking down memory lane, stating that the character of Kundan “refuses to let go of me even after more than a decade.” He noted the “full circle” moment of revisiting the same narrow lanes, house, tea shop, and the shores of the Holy Ganges with Rai, before concluding that it was now “time for Shankar,” referring to his character in his next project, Tere Ishk Mein.
Mrunal Thakur quickly reacted to the post, commenting, “@dhanushkraja Sir… what a beautiful journey! BLOCKBUSTER!! CULT!!! LEGACY!!,” followed by a high-five emoji, to which Dhanush responded with hug and heart emojis. Speculation about a relationship between the two actors has been circulating since August. These rumors intensified after they were seen together at the premiere of her film Son of Sardaar 2 and, earlier, at the wrap party for Tere Ishk Mein. Further buzz was created by reports that Mrunal began following Dhanush’s sisters on Instagram, though both actors have maintained privacy regarding their personal lives.
The upcoming film, Tere Ishk Mein, is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow, and produced by Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar. Directed by Aanand L Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, the film features music by A.R. Rahman with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, the film is scheduled for a worldwide release today, November 28, 2025, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
