Much-Awaited Shooting For ‘Thalapathy 69’ Set To Begin On This Date, Deets Inside

Actor Vijay is all set to begin shooting for Thalapathy 69, his last film, before he fully enters politics. The filming kicked off with a traditional muhurat puja held on the second day of Navratri.

The shooting Will kick off from October 5, 2024. The event was attended by co-stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and other key members of the cast and crew. This project marks Vijay’s second collaboration with Pooja Hegde after Beast.

Thalapathy 69, directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, is a pan-India film slated for release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi in October 2025. The star-studded cast includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Prakash Raj, and Mamitha Baiju, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. Bobby Deol has also been confirmed as the film’s antagonist.

Vijay, who recently starred in GOAT and Leo, also took to social media to reiterate his commitment to his political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam. He shared a letter following the Pandakkal Pooja ceremony, emphasizing his ambition to serve the people of Tamil Nadu and address their unmet needs. His party, which was officially registered in September 2024, is expected to participate in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections in 2026.
