Mufasa & Scar’s Story: New ‘Lion King’ Trailer Released

Disney on Saturday dropped the much-awaited first trailer of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’, one of the most anticipated movies this year. The film is slated for release on December 20. The 2 Minute 34 Second trailer is a visual delight and your heart skips a beat from the word go as the trailer commences.

Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic cub, Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline, who later becomes Scar. Mufasa is initially rejected by all, but Taka stands by him like a rock, and their chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny.

The Lion King’ is directed by Barry Jenkins, known for his Oscar-winning work on ‘Moonlight.’ The story begins with the baboon Rafiki recounting Mufasa’s legend to his granddaughter Kiara, with the narrative unfolding through flashbacks.
