"Mufasa: The Lion King" Roars onto Digital Screens – Streaming on JioHotstar from March 26
Mumbai, March 13: After a blockbuster theatrical run, Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King” is set to make its highly anticipated digital debut on JioHotstar from March 26.
The film, directed by Oscar-winner Barry Jenkins, became a worldwide sensation, grossing over USD 700 million at the global box office and securing a spot among the top 10 highest-grossing films of 2024.
For the Hindi version, Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan lends his voice to Mufasa, marking a return to the legendary role he voiced in The Lion King (2019). His son Aryan Khan voices Simba, while AbRam Khan makes his voice-acting debut as young Mufasa.
In the Telugu dub, superstar Mahesh Babu takes on the role of Mufasa, bringing a regional flavor to the grand Disney tale.

“Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone, until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.”
