Actor Vindu Dara Singh, a close friend of Mukul’s, confirmed the news and shared an emotional tribute on X (formerly Twitter). In an interview, Vindu opened up about the actor’s personal struggles, revealing that Mukul was not battling any serious illness but had been suffering in silence due to loneliness.

“I don’t think he was suffering from any disease, but he used to drink a lot and would consume gutkha. He had become overweight and was battling loneliness. He has a daughter, but she was not living with him,” said Vindu. “It’s very tragic news. He was making his comeback with Son of Sardar 2, but the sad part is he won’t be here to see it.”

Vindu also spoke fondly of their camaraderie on the sets of Son of Sardar 2, which is slated for release in July.

“He has done such fantastic work in SOS 2. He was my Tony, and I was his Tito. People are going to roll on the floor laughing when they see his performance. But unfortunately, he won’t be around to enjoy the success or feel the love.”

The official cause of Mukul Dev’s death has not yet been confirmed.

Mukul is survived by his daughter, Sia Dev, and his siblings, including well-known actor Rahul Dev. Rahul shared a heartfelt message on Instagram announcing his brother’s passing and funeral arrangements.

“Our brother Mukul Dev passed away peacefully in New Delhi last night. He is survived by his daughter, Sia Dev. Missed deeply by his siblings Rashmi Kaushal, Rahul Dev, and nephew Sidhant Dev.”

The cremation took place at Dayanand Mukti Dham, Nizamuddin West, Delhi, at 5 PM on Saturday.

Mukul Dev began his career in the 1990s and gained popularity for his roles in both television and film. His body of work includes appearances in Dastak, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardar, and numerous regional films.

As the industry remembers his talent and warmth, Mukul Dev’s passing serves as a stark reminder of the silent battles many face behind the spotlight.
