Mumbai Crime Branch Searches Surat River in Salman Khan’s Firing Case

In the latest development concerning the firing incident near actor Salman Khan’s residence, the Mumbai Crime Branch has extended its search to the Tapi River in Surat in pursuit of the firearm used in the attack.

Following interrogation, the accused revealed to the Crime Branch that they disposed of the weapon in the Tapi River after committing the crime. The incident occurred on April 14, when two assailants on a motorcycle fired shots outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai before fleeing the scene. CCTV footage captured the suspects wearing caps and carrying backpacks.

To bolster the investigation, the Mumbai Crime Branch has added three additional sections to the FIR against the accused, including IPC 506(2) (threatening), 115 (abetment), and 201 (tampering with evidence). Notably, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi have been declared wanted in connection with the case.

Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the firing through a Facebook post following the attack.

Following their arrest by the Kutch Police, the two accused, identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) from Bihar, were handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. They have been remanded to custody until April 25 by a city court.

On April 15, Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz Khan addressed the incident on Instagram, expressing the family’s distress and emphasizing their cooperation with the Mumbai Police in the ongoing investigation.
