Mumbai Police Investigate Ranveer Allahbadia Over Controversial Comments On 'India's Got Latent'
February 11, 2025: The controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, continues to escalate after the Mumbai Police visited his residence in connection with offensive remarks made on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. The police action follows a formal complaint filed against Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina (host of the show), social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, and others involved in the production.
The complaint, which cites inappropriate language and offensive content on the show, sparked public outrage, with viewers demanding legal action and even a ban on the show. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also condemned the remarks, calling them disrespectful and damaging to societal values. They urged for a complete ban on the show and for all industry professionals to sever ties with those involved, including host Samay Raina and Allahbadia.
In response to the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology, acknowledging that his comments were inappropriate, lacked humor, and were a lapse in judgment. He emphasized the importance of responsibility, especially given his influence on younger audiences. Allahbadia also requested that the “insensitive sections” of the episode be removed by the show’s producers.
Legal and industry bodies, including the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, have become involved, with the complainants demanding that strict actions be taken against those responsible for the show, particularly Allahbadia and Raina, for using abusive and obscene language.
