Mumbai Police Visits Saif Ali Khan’s Residence To Record His Statement In Stabbing Case

January 22, 2025: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after undergoing five days of treatment for injuries sustained during a violent burglary attempt at his Bandra residence. The actor, who had been attacked by an intruder, was seen leaving the hospital with a smile, acknowledging the media and fans gathered outside.

Following his discharge, Saif returned home under heavy police security. The Mumbai Police visited his residence the next day to record his statement regarding the incident. Actor Ronit Roy, known for his roles in TV shows and films, was also seen accompanying Saif on his return home. It was later confirmed that Saif had hired Ronit Roy’s security firm, ‘Ace Security and Protection,’ to ensure heightened security measures following the attack.

The incident occurred when the intruder, identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, entered Saif’s home with the intent of theft. During the confrontation, Saif was stabbed, sustaining injuries to his thoracic spine. An auto-rickshaw driver helped rush the actor to Lilavati Hospital after witnessing Saif bleeding from his neck and back.

Mumbai Police launched an investigation and apprehended Shehzad while attempting to flee to his native village in Bangladesh. A case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).

In a statement on Instagram, Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, expressed the family’s distress over the incident and thanked well-wishers for their support. She also requested privacy during this challenging time, urging the media and paparazzi to respect their boundaries as they cope with the aftermath of the traumatic event.

The incident has understandably shaken Saif’s family, but with Saif on the path to recovery, they are focused on moving forward with privacy and safety as their priority.
