Sharing a deeply personal reflection on Saturday, the megastar quoted his father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan:

“My sons, just because you are my sons, shall not be my inheritors; they who shall be my inheritors, shall be my sons.”

Amitabh went on to write how Abhishek has lived up to that ideal, choosing complex and often unconventional roles that reflect both courage and depth.

“He has dared to take on films and characters that challenged him, and he acted,” Bachchan wrote. “He dared to act and be recognized.”
