Nani Slammed For Defending ‘HIT 3’ Success Meet Amid Cross Border Tensions

May 10, 2025: Telugu actor Nani has found himself at the center of social media criticism after proceeding with the success meet of his latest film HIT 3, despite the ongoing military tensions between India and Pakistan. While many film-related events and releases are being postponed in solidarity or for security reasons, Nani’s decision to go ahead with the event has stirred a heated debate online.

At the event held in Hyderabad, Nani addressed the prevailing situation, acknowledging Operation Sindoor and the escalation that followed. He explained that his team debated whether it was appropriate to hold a celebration at such a sensitive time. However, he ultimately defended the decision, stating, “The situation is sensitive because those people (terrorists) tried to create a problem for us. Our Indian Army responded with focus and dignity.”

What sparked further backlash was a part of his speech where he said, “Let’s not give them the satisfaction of even feeling that a success meet in some part of India was cancelled due to what they did. We have the responsibility of making a statement and showing them they weren’t able to touch us.”

While Nani praised the Indian Armed Forces and emphasized the importance of standing strong, the tone of his remarks didn’t sit well with many on social media. Reddit users questioned his judgment, with one writing, “Indeed it could have been avoided at least by one week. Such a low move by Nani.” Another added, “This is what happens when people start thinking actors are gods—they start believing it themselves.”

However, some users offered a more balanced take. One comment read, “If we stop activities that should continue normally, it gives Pakistan the satisfaction of disrupting our flow. I get what Nani’s trying to say, even if it came across poorly.” Others echoed that life must go on and that halting cultural or social events gives undue credit to terror-driven disruptions.

Despite the growing debate and viral reactions, Nani has not yet issued a statement addressing the controversy surrounding his comments.
