Neena Gupta’s Panchayat S4 Finale Flops: Fans Call It “Disappointing Ending”

June 25, 2025: The much-anticipated Season 4 of Panchayat premiered on June 24 on Prime Video, marking the return of Jitendra Kumar as Sachiv Ji alongside Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, and others. However, while the show has been a consistent favorite in its earlier seasons, the latest chapter has received mixed reactions, with the finale being dubbed the weakest in the series so far.

According to IMDb ratings, previous season finales have set a high bar:

  • Season 1 finale “Jab Jaago Tabhi Savera” – 8.8
  • Season 2 finale “Parivaar” – 9.6
  • Season 3 finale “Hamla” – 9.0
In contrast, Season 4’s finale episode, “Dabdaba”, holds a modest 8.4, making it the lowest-rated finale in the franchise.

Fan Reactions: ‘Lacked Comedy and Simplicity’

Viewers took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to express disappointment. One user wrote,
“Finished watching… Disappointed to the core. Slow, even boring in some parts… Lacked the USP comedy… unexpected downfall.”

Another commented,
“Panchayat Season 4 felt like attending a wedding you didn’t want to go to, but were forced to sit through till the end.”

Critics and fans alike pointed out that the season’s focus on Phulera’s election politics overshadowed the emotional simplicity and slice-of-life charm that once defined Panchayat.
“Too much bad politics… And the ending ruined a good series,” read another frustrated post.

Overuse of Formula, Decline in Originality

Several reviewers noted the creeping sense of formulaic storytelling, with political drama taking precedence over the show’s core emotional and comedic elements.
“Season 4 feels more manufactured than before… losing the freshness and relatability that made the first three seasons special,” read a viewer review.

Piracy Adds to the Woes

Adding to the season’s troubles, Panchayat Season 4 was leaked online within hours of release, with all eight episodes appearing on pirated platforms, which may also impact its long-term performance.

While fans still hold hope for a stronger Season 5, it’s clear that the latest chapter has left many wishing for the simpler, heartwarming storytelling that once made Panchayat a breakout success.
