June 27, 2025: The casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the much-anticipated film Sardaar Ji 3, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, has sparked widespread controversy following the recent Pahalgam terror attack. While Diljit continues to promote the film despite mounting criticism, Neeru Bajwa has quietly removed every post related to the movie from her Instagram, just a day before its overseas release.
According to an Instagram page ‘Lollywoodspace’ and observations by Reddit users, Neeru not only deleted all Sardaar Ji 3 posts but also unfollowed Hania Aamir on Instagram. Her latest post now highlights the teaser of her upcoming project Son Of Sardaar 2, with no mention of the current film. The move has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some praising Neeru for taking a stand amidst the backlash.
One Reddit user remarked, “This is Brave on Neeru’s part! Respect to her!” while others noted the increasing hate directed towards her from both Pakistani fans and supporters of Diljit Dosanjh.
Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 is a horror-comedy centered on ghost hunters, with Diljit and Hania playing lead roles. Neeru Bajwa also features prominently in the film, which is skipping release in India but is set to premiere overseas on June 27. The inclusion of multiple Pakistani actors, including Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela, has intensified the controversy, especially amid rising tensions between the two countries.
Diljit Dosanjh addressed the situation in an interview with BBC Asian Network, stating, “Jab yeh film bani thi, tab sab theek tha… Producers ka paisa laga hua hai… Film bann chuki thi before tensions started.” He expressed support for the producers’ decision to proceed with the overseas release, highlighting the financial stakes involved.
As the film’s release date approaches, the debate over cross-border collaborations and political sensitivities continues to dominate conversations around Sardaar Ji 3.
