April 13, 2025: Veteran actor Neetu Kapoor took a walk down memory lane this Sunday as she shared a heartfelt throwback on her Instagram Stories, commemorating the day she got engaged to the late Rishi Kapoor.
Posting a charming black-and-white photograph of herself and Rishi, Neetu captioned it:
“Was engaged on this day in 1979 💕 time flies.”

In the picture, the couple appear youthful and radiant, both smiling as they look away from the camera — a rare, intimate glimpse into a key moment of their life together.
Neetu and Rishi tied the knot on January 22, 1980, a year after their engagement. They went on to become one of Bollywood’s most beloved on-screen and off-screen couples, starring in several classic films together such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Rafoo Chakkar, Kabhi Kabhie, and Khel Khel Mein. Their love story continued to win hearts even off the silver screen.
The couple have two children — fashion designer Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor.
Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, after a two-year battle with leukemia, but Neetu has continued to celebrate his memory with warmth and grace. Her occasional tributes, filled with vintage photos and fond memories, continue to touch the hearts of fans who loved their bond.
This latest post is yet another gentle reminder of a beautiful chapter in Bollywood history — a timeless romance that still resonates.
