Not Exactly a ‘New’ Season?

While the release is labeled as Season 3, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk clarified in earlier interviews that it’s more of a continuation of Season 2. The story will pick up where it left off, following Seong Gi-hun’s mission to disrupt the deadly game system from within.

“Gi-hun’s revolt going into failure, him ending up losing his best friend, that itself being yet another important climatic event in the first half of the season,” Hwang previously revealed.

Both seasons were reportedly filmed simultaneously, splitting the massive storyline into two halves, resulting in 14 adrenaline-pumping episodes. Despite the ambiguity around whether it’s a continuation or a standalone season, fans are already bracing for a nerve-wracking conclusion.

Netflix’s Marketing Genius?

Whether the leak was an accident or part of a calculated marketing strategy, one thing is certain—Squid Game remains one of Netflix’s most highly anticipated titles. Fans eagerly await an official confirmation from Netflix regarding the teaser and the 2025 release date.
